The GXA 750 DJ amplifier is guaranteed not to fail
Chances are, if you’re a working DJ or even just starting out in the business, you don’t need me telling you about Gemini DJ products. You’ve probably tried them yourself, or better yet, use them to their full capacity. If that is the case, then you can skip the first paragraph, otherwise, let me tell you that from 1974 and until now, Gemini has been adding real quality to the world of DJ equipment market, and the DJ product reviews show that. You don’t have to look too hard to find favorable DJ equipment reviews about this DJ brand, and if you’re lucky enough to own or try on a Gemini DJ product, you don’t need a review at all, because nothing compares to hands-on experience. While not offering too much of that hands on experience, DJ amps are equally important to any working DJ, so why not consider the GXA 750 DJ amplifier model, which is the target for our DJ product review today.
You can even go ahead and compare between different Gemini DJ amps here on WorkingDJ.com, as not too long ago I also wrote a DJ equipment review on the GPA 1000 DJ amp, so we’re on our way to featuring a good part of the Gemini DJ products. The GXA 750 is the smaller DJ amp from a series of two, the GXA series, which includes the bigger GXA 1600 (but we’ll maybe keep this one for another post, another time). The reason why Gemini puts so much trust behind their GXA 750 is known only to them, but it must be worth it, since the GXA 750 DJ amp is backed up by a 5 years limited warranty, which is pretty much as high as any working DJ can hope in the world of DJ amps.

So you know the technology behind the GXA 750 is made to last, but is it made to satisfy the needs of the working DJ when it comes to making himself heard. Well, this little baby can push an entire 750 watts of power behind your mix (in mono bridge and at 4 ohms) and a minimum of 175 watts at 8 ohms, which should still enough to drive your party forward. I say "little" almost lovingly, because at 12.3 kgs (27 lbs), the GXA 750 isn’t the first thing a mobile DJ would pick up when changing locations. Fortunately, the dimensions stay pretty low, at 19” x 3.5” x 13.75” ( or 483 x 89 x 350mm in the metric system), and together with a solid reinforced steel built chassis which accommodates the GXA 750, this model can take to the roads too, by the side of the mobile DJ.
As far as features are concerned, here’s what the GXA 750 (link to PDF manual) has to show for to working DJ all over the world:
- all the connectors are Speakon
- both XLR and 1/4" balanced inputs
- the GXA 750 keeps stable all the way down to 2 ohms (including)
- and it works in 3 modes: stereo, mono parallel and mono bridged
- frequency response is from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
- a total harmonic distortion less than 0.01% at 1 kHz
- and a signal to noise ratio of 100 dB
Working DJs with a knack for tech stuff can see that the GXA 750 can handle sound pretty well and it’s definitely suited to push your mix the way you want it, being able to handle flawlessly from the lows to the highs. Gemini and the GXA 750 don’t let the DJ down when it comes to protection either, so this DJ amplifier is well protected against all types of shocks, starting with a comprehensive circuitry protection (short circuits, overheats, DC, subsonic and RF filters) and backed up by a dual aluminum extrusion heatsink made for stability and keeping the temperature in working range, and a front to rear air flow with 2 cooling fans working at 2 speeds each.
At this rate, it’s no wonder Gemini feel confident backing the GXA 750 for up to 5 years, knowing the technology they’ve put into it. The specs look pretty good too, so if you’re a working DJ needing some more power to push your mix and subsequently, your crowd, then the GX 750 might just be a good pick.
