Fender Accessories Round Out The Passport Line Of Audio Products
In my last post I covered the Fender Passport PD-250 PA system, so I figured now is a good time to talk about the extensive line of Fender Accessories that set this line apart from all the rest.
In a world full of options, some working DJs show a surprising amount of loyalty to a particular brand. If you’re one of them, and a Fender nut to boot, you may want to look into this group of accessories proprietary to the Fender Passport brand and known for their high quality, rugged construction and affordable pricing.
Most DJ product reviews go into unnecessary details that only confuse the issue. What’s the point? In general, here are the main advantages to Fender accessories… they make your life easier on the road and last a good long time. Throw in the fact that they’re super affordable and carry the legendary Fender name and now we’ve got something.

Let’s start with the speaker stands. The Fender ST-275 stand set is made specifically for the Passport line. They’re made of anodyzed steel and fold up, tripod style into an included nylon bag for transport. But it’s the telescoping feature and snug fit into the speaker bottom that make these stands great. Lifted to its high end position they raise the Passport speakers to a height of 7 feet, giving a nice clear shot overview aspect to audio projection. Check.
The Fender P-51 Microphone Kit comes in a little pouch, which is great for storage and includes a 25 foot XLR cable and a stand adapter. Very functional. But the microphone is the real steal here. For like 50 bucks, this dynamic microphone is very close in quality to a Shure SM-58, the leader in handheld wired mics for sound and ruggedness. Not bad Leo. Keep up the good work.
The Passport Travel Pack is cool if you can overcome the old lady factor in your mind. It’s like a Passport shopping cart. But it definitely kills the back pain factor and is very well made and rugged. The wheels always roll and it fits the Passport PA perfectly. By the end of the night, who doesn’t feel like getting a little extra support? Especially if you are your own roadie.
The only way to get the Fender microphone stands is to buy them in the ST-280 Stand kit. But it’s worth the extra expense. I’ve never seen such a high quality stand for the price. So maybe you should kill 2 birds with one stone.
As far as the rest of the line, it’s mostly a matter of taste. The dual speaker mounts are great for small spaces, but don’t offer much speaker separation. The crank up stand is a bit of overkill, but if you like cranking… and the heavy duty protective cover offers little more protection than the Passport case affords, so it seems a bit cheesy to me.
Over all, Fender makes some great support products for the Passport line, but stick with the mic kits and the ST-280 pack.
You can’t go wrong on price and quality. After all, we’re talking Fender.
