The BPM festival in Mexico

The BPM festival is a working DJ’s chance to get back to it after the holidays
The winter season may have some indoor gigs for all you working DJs out there, but believe it or not, clubbers tend to have an extra good time if you’re mixing for them outside, potentially somewhere where the sand is fine and white and you can hear the sea providing the background for your tunes. Huh, isn’t that interesting, that’s a pretty accurate depiction of how the BPM festival will be in January 2010, when the 3rd annual edition will kick off in Mexico, at Playa del Carmen for a full 10 days of sunny dancing and electronic music celebration.
The BPM festival is a newcomer in the world of dance destinations across the world, but it made quite an impression in the two years it’s been going on, and last year in 2009, the BPM festival sold over 15 000 event tickets and if three times is any kind of charm, then the BPM festival 2010 will more than live up to the expectations. Also, the BPM festival is one of those dance and music outdoor festival that keep the music flowing all through the winter, when mostly every other party in the world takes place indoor. Only the BPM, Creamfields Abu Dhabi and a few others can offer that to working DJs and clubbers. And yet another reason why the BPM festival in Mexico is special and worth your attention is that it’s the warming up for a lot of DJs after their winter holidays. True, some may spin even then, at Christmas parties and so on, but that’s usually another kind of mixing.

So if you’re looking for a dancing fresh new start to your 2010, in tune with the latest and hottest tracks around, mixed by some very respected working DJs worldwide, then you should make Playa del Carmen your destination between the 1st and the 10th of January next year. Organizers will make sure this year BPM festival will outgrow last year’s, and they’ll assure the crowds with 10 days filled with over 30 different day and night parties on the sunny beaches of Mexico. As far as the attending DJs are concerned, the BPM festival attracts some interesting names, definitely worth a listen and who could headline any electronic music festival. Some of those names are:
- twisted house music pioneer Steve Lawler
- sci-tec Dubfire
- the Swedish Steve Angello, who requires no presentation
- techno master Craig Pettigrew, who is also the BPM festival’s co director
- or Cedric Gervais, among others
People are starting to get excited about the BPM festival as soon as they smell the winter holidays coming around, and preparations are in full swing to get the best working DJs and the best music, in the vibrant Maya inspired location (pretty well inspired for an electronic music and dance party, right?). Another co director of the BPM festival, Philip Pulitano says: " We will be hosting numerous day and nighttime events this year in order to offer alternative music options to our discerning crowds. Mark your calendars for BPM as the first important date on 2010’s global dance music calendar."
