Numark NDX 200 Product Review

Rugged player with a gentle price

For years, Numark has built DJ equipment with the phrase, "You don’t have to spend much to gain a lot" in mind. Sure, their products may not be able to rival Pioneer, but their prices make Pioneer resemble Bonnie and Clyde (no disrespect to Pioneer–great DJ/electronics company). And the best part is, Numark delivers equipment with features that’ll make your mouth water and designs you’ll die to show off at the clubs. Sometimes, the quality in build isn’t so hot. We can all agree on that. But what I think we’ll also agree on is this: shabby build doesn’t apply to their NDX 200 CD player. Here’s what you should know about it.

The Numark NDX 200 is a heavy, very durable, CD player with a rugged build and spartan design (not necessarily an attractive design, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?). I personally love the jog wheel as it’s large, not small and dainty, offering comfortable performance. Working DJ’s will love that, thanks to Numark’s Anti-Shock buffered skip protection technology, the music will continue to play even when vibrations can cause other CD players to skip.

The NDX 200 is loaded with incredible features, much to no one’s surprise. Among the best include seamless looping to create and integrate loops in instant remixes; single, continuous and programmable playback modes, which will help the working DJ control playback order and create custom playlists; and a fader start. When you move the crossfader onto a compatible mixer, the NDX 200 starts playing.

 DJs may take a look at how basic and easy to use Numark’s NDX 200 is, and automatically asume it’s a CD player for beginning DJs. That’s not the case. The NDX 200 will compliment any DJ set up, no matter what "level" you’re at. Bedroom DJ/beginning DJ and pro working DJs will all benefit from it. But like I always say, don’t take my word for it.
