DJ Beverly Bond DJ review

Female DJ Beverly Bond is an inspirational role model for black girls everywhere
Whatever anybody says, most working DJs are men, that’s a fact. Tons of DJ reviews here prove that, and you can probably still remember the times when you went into a club and a female DJ was mixing and spinning. Maybe that’s the reason why the lady DJs are getting the attention, because they are, after all, a change from the usual male working DJ image, something special and new, worth checking out. In some cases that turns out to be just that, curiosity, but with female DJs like DJ Beverly Bond, it’s all about DJ-ing and initiatives (as feminist as those may be).
DJ Beverly Bond, the target for the DJ review today, is a New York born and Maryland bred female DJ who’s successfully competed in a lot of areas in her life. True, DJ Beverly Bond is one of those ladies that look just as good from behind the DJ turntables as they look in front of the camera, and with DJ Beverly Bond, it’s explainable, as she started out as a Wilhelmina model at some point. It’s only about 10 years ago that accomplished fashion model Beverly Bond set out to conquer the world of working DJs as well, and she’s been anything but unsuccessful at that.
DJ Beverly Bond’s strong command of the entire line up of music genres and her almost intuitive way of mixing them together brought fame and fortune to this female DJ. Here are some of the moments and highlights in DJ Beverly Bond’s career:
- Club land MVP title from The Village Voice
- one of five notable figures for Future Urban Icons by Vibe Magazine
- winner of the Best Female DJ section at Justo Mixtape Award
- and the single female DJ in the Heavy Hitters collective, which has Kanye West or DJ Enuff onboard
But DJ Beverly Bond is much more than just a working DJ, although she excels at it. She’s a strong and firm supporter for the rights of black women all over the world, through her organization Black Girls Rock! Inc.. Actually, this saturday there’s the 4th annual Black Girls Rock! Awards, where the likes of Naomi Campbell or Mary J. Blige will be present. A strong feminine presence through her Black Girls Rock! Inc. foundation, DJ Beverly Bond made it in a male dominated job in a male dominated society. Thumbs up for that.
