Winter Music Conference 2010 announced

by Marius on Oct.21, 2009, under News

The most anticipated DJ-ing event all year, the WMC is announced for 2010

That time of year is fast approaching again, and while in most places, that means snow, cold, some nasty weather and a better time to hang around the house, in Miami it’s quite the opposite. Winter is the time of year when Miami steps out from the crowd and yells Winter Music Conference out loud, so I can’t think of a better place to be for a few winter days than the WMC (Winter Music Conference) in Miami Beach, especially if you’re any bit connected with the electronic music and DJ-ing.

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what this means for everything related to DJ-ing from all over the world. Winter Music Conference is the place where everything and everybody that counts in the world of DJ-ing and music gathers in one place, at the same time, and the WMC prides itself with being the event that gets it all together. Not to mention the WMC is the best place and time to promote the industry and yourself, to create to connections, to hear and see what’s new, what’s hot and what’s not. And given the fame the Winter Music Conference in Miami built for itself, pretty much everything that’s not in Miami Beach is not hot. But don’t worry, you can check updates online, like so many other working DJs from all over the world, because the place is already too crowded.

Winter Music Conference 2010 in Miami Beach, Florida announced its schedule

Just check a bit of the demographics the Winter Music Conference organizers have posted for their reunion in 2009, and you’ll get a feel for the amount of DJs, media journalists, officials and music representatives that attended. You could make an educated guess as to what’s going to happen in March, between the 23rd and 27th, when the WMC is taking place in 2010:

  • 1910 artists and working DJs straight from the industry’s core, who performed at the WMC 2009
  • 3228 industry delegates from a total of 62 countries
  • 70k event attendees for the busiest 5 days Miami ever saw: over 500 different events
  • 503 accredited journalists
  • and for 3 months around the event, the Winter Music Conference generated over 2,7 billion media impressions in 2009

Talk about a busy event, and the Winter Music Conference in 2010 doesn’t seem to want to back down. The main events that working DJs and attendants can look forward to are the 25th anniversary for the WMC event. It’s all going to happen at the bold new Eden Roc Beach Resort & Spa in Miami Beach. Also, the 4th annual International Records Collectors Show will happen at the WMC 2010, where all the rarest collections of vinyls and records will be present from all over the world, for a gold digger’s pleasure.

More recently, the Winter Music Conference hosts also the annual VJ Challenge, which is now only at its second edition, where famous hosts, judges and of course, the VJs themselves will mix for their chance for glory at the WMC 2010. So if you’ve already made up your mind about attending the Winter Music Conference in Miami in March 2010, early registrations cost $235 and end on November 11th, 2009, so there are still a couple of weeks to get yours.
