Mauro Picotto DJ Review

"The Lizard Man"

Most working DJs see becoming a professional DJ as the point of success they want to reach, knowing there will be many steps in order to reach that point. Most don’t usually view becoming a professional DJ as one the steps in becoming successful, which means most working DJs aren’t like Mauro Picotto. For Picotto, one can’t doubt that he isn’t musically giftedd and being a disc jockey was among his many passions. But it wasn’t where he wanted to be, merely a bar in the ladder that would take him to the top. For Mauro Picotto, it was supposed to give him fame, exposure, but I doubt even he knew how famous it would make him.

His DJ career is much like anyone else who makes it big in the working DJ world. Picotto’s DJ life is made up of number one hits, "celebrity/DJ" collaborations, remixes such as York’s "On the beach" that gives the original hit new fame, awards, labels (Mauro has two record labels: Backerloo music and Alchemy) and, of course, first time accomplishments such as Mauro Picotto mixing live on BBC Television’s Top of the Pops, becoming the first DJ to ever do this.

Mauro Picotto

He has created quite a reputation for himself as the "Lizard man" (listen to his single, Lizard, to understand the meaning behind the nickname) and as an overall working DJ. He has reached Universal fame–although he was born in Italy, everyone from the US to Australia, from China to Africa (everywhere) knows him–like so many other professional working DJs, such as Shah, but what makes Picotto’s fame so special is that he reached fame doing something most working DJs would never dream of doing: he switched up his genres. Again, and again and again. And again. Most people call it the kiss of death, but Mauro Picotto is singing his own mantra which sounds something like this: "Money, money, money, moooney! Mooooooney!"

He is also considered a rave god, has toured the world and is even behind Meganite.Obviously, Mauro Picotto isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. I’m sure he still has many tricks up his sleeves. Interested in his most recent project? Check out the official page of MEGANITE.
