DJ Mozy just released his new 2009 album, full of his best tracks
New albums are always a reason to celebrate, both for the working DJs themselves, but also for the fans, who get the chance to hear their favorites and the new tracks they’ve been working on. There’s even more reason to watch out for DJ Mozy’s new album, as this South African working DJ stayed under the radar for a while now, and he’s had plenty of time to work each tracks to be just the way he likes it.
The new album called New Wave has just been released both on the shelves, but also online, and can be found and downloaded on all major music sites, if you want to get your hands on one. DJ Mozy took a short break from the entire music industry and 2009 is his comeback year, with the New Wave album marking his return to the house music scene as a working DJ. The main track off of his newest album is a remake of the internet sensation Bliss, which was first released in 2000, back when MP3 weren’t still as popular as today.
As part of any DJ review, I have to mention the main areas of work for DJ Mozy, although he took a break from DJ-ing for a while. DJ Mozy creates unique epic/uplifting trance and progressive dance music that has been played in clubs and on national radio stations and clubs around the world. Originally from South Africa, he has lived in London for the past 8 years being influenced by the thriving dance scene in Europe. DJ Mozy, or Harel Seligmann, by his real name, has been making music for over 10 years, making mainly trance and hard house and only more recently focusing on progressive.

If you’re a long time fan of house music, since as far as 2000, you’ll probably remember Bliss, DJ Mozy’s track which took the internet by storm and made itself a legend in the days when online music was just beginning to be an outlet for the fans, not the huge industry for DJs it is today. The new version of Bliss, featured on the New Wave album from DJ Mozy takes and holds onto the retro elements of the original track, which will hit a cord with those listening to house back then, but a new sound and variations have been added to the track to keep things fresh and interesting.
Other tracks on the album are also worth remembering, as some featured great vocals from the likes of Natasha Saladino. Uplifting tracks are also present, along with a combination of hard dance style and trance tracks. Overall, the New Wave album from DJ Mozy takes the listener through a journey of peaks and lows that will keep you hooked all the way through, but each track has value and power even taken individually.
As DJ Mozy says himself, New Wave is almost free of filling tracks, which is a great thing, as these days many artists think an album can easily center around just one track, using, dare I say it, rubbish…to make the other tracks. DJ Mozy attests: "Unlike most other trance albums there are no fillers and every track can hold its own. The album is mainly trance focused with a few progressive tracks for good measure such as Colour and Biotronic." All in all, a balanced album that’s worth listening to and certainly a marking point for DJ Mozy’s return to the DJ scene, that’s what New Wave is.
