Tiesto and Paul van Dyk will both perform in Ybor City this fall

It’s not often that club goers of one city get to see as many world renowned faces of the DJ industry as in Tampa Bay this fall and they should definitely consider themselves lucky. About one month apart, both Tiesto and Paul van Dyk, two iconic figures in DJ-ing will have center stage in the same location, that usually attracts the best of electronic music anyhow: the Bay area, more specifically the Ritz hotel in Ybor City. It would be bordering impossible to get these two DJs in the same place at the same time because, let’s face it, the major question is who’d be opening for who? One of them is bound to get hard feelings.

So the schedule for the party people of Tampa goes like this:

• Tiesto on Sunday, the 18th of October
• Paul van Dyk on the 27th of November
• the location is the same, the Ritz hotel in Ybor City, with the address being 1503 E. 7th Avenue (on the corner of 15th Street next to Honey Pot, for some directions)

Both parties have an over 18 years old acceptance condition, but even so, I would suggest you get your tickets way ahead if you even want to stand a chance of getting in and seeing your favorite DJs in action. It’s usually hard enough to get in in time if you have a ticket, but you’d have to share your room with Lady Luck herself to just stumble on the club that night and manage to see the action inside.

Here are the ticket situations and prices, since there’s still time to plan ahead until Tiesto and Paul van Dyk get on the stage:

• for Tiesto, the general admission costs $40, that’s only in the standing room
• and a VIP ticket pass costs $175, with only 75 of these being put up for sale. They also include an open bar
• for Paul van Dyk, you’re getting a bargain compared to Tiesto, with regular tickets on sale for just $15
• and the VIP passes for $75

Tickets to both parties can be bought online fortunately, so you can even plan your Thanksgiving weekend ahead to go see Paul van Dyk in action (I think that’s the exact timing of his performance). For Tiesto’s show you can get your tickets here, while for Paul van Dyk they’re available here.

Sunset Promotions had a role in bringing Paul van Dyk to Tampa, and it was a long time coming since with all the stars of electronic music playing at the Ritz, this DJ never hit Tampa before, as far as I know. The only thing curious to me is that difference in price, which is rather large to justify what I consider to be a not as big as a difference in skill. Anyway, I guess with Tiesto you’re buying the brand more than the actual performance, just like with some DJ equipment and electronic brands.

At any rate, both parties are worth attending and world DJs are sure giving Tampa clubbing fans a happy fall this year (Thanksgiving weekend included). Enjoy and let us know how it was, will you?…
