B-52 Prodogy FX

Is the B-52 the next "prodogy" in DJ workstations?

Lately, I’ve been all about the "all one in DJ sollution" that comes in the form of consoles. The only downside I’ve ever found with them, in general, is the frightening fact that you have to carry turntables/CD players and your mixer at one time. They’re convenient for many reasons, sure, but I suggest saving your doc’s number into your speed dial. List him as number one.

Aside from that, all in one just keeps getting sweeter. Since pretty much every DJ supplier has jumped on this bandwagon, working DJs have a multitude of options to chose from. Say you don’t like Numark, then you can go with Vestax. If you don’t like Vestax, you can look into B-52’s ProdogyFX. Great name, right? But is the ProdogyFX hot enough to heat up the competition?

Here’s a small sample of what it has, and what it’s capable of:

Even though this is a morsel of what it can do, was it enough to get you hooked? Needs and desires are all packed into the ProdogyFX, however, it could look good on paper, but nowhere else. I can say this much: the beauty of the ProdogyFX is that it’s good everywhere. On paper, and on the unit.

Spacious design and a lightweight feel are just two reasons why working DJs have fallen in love with the B-52pro-ProdogyFX. The lightweight feel will help you get from venue to venue in record time, while the spacious layout will allow quick access to all the functions, nice finger room and an overall better performance. Special effects is like the icing on the cake, as this unit is loaded with effects that provide incredible sound to your mix. Although it’s difficult for CD players to capture the true sound of vinyl, the special effects built into this unit has turned the modern CD player into an old fashioned turntable, making it seem as if you’re scratching wax.

The features and special effects may do complex things, but does that mean it’s complex to understand? Not at all. Pro’s and bedrooms DJs alike can take comfort in knowing the ProdogyFX is 100% straightforward and user friendly.

Compatibility is a must with every DJ console. If the hardware doesn’t intermix well with the software, then working DJs know they have a serious problem on their hands. Luckily, you won’t find that problem here. Blended with Serato, the ProdogyFX is a force to be reckoned with. I don’t know any DJ product that doesn’t have its flaws, and B-52s Prodogy is no exception. However, it isn’t enough to defer from its brilliance.

When you think about the ideal "all in one" solution, you may not think "B-52" right away. But with this unit by your side, you aren’t deejaying solo. You’ve got some major back-up here.
