Paul Oakenfold stays at Perfecto Vegas

by Marius on Jul.20, 2009, under News

Paul Oakenfold just got another contract mixing at Perfecto Vegas until 2010

That title sounds like it’s some kind of a breakthrough for an otherwise unknown working DJ who’s chipping to get by, but you know it’s otherwise. Paul Oakenfold doesn’t need any presentations and this post isn’t going to be an intro or a biography type, like the others, this is more in the DJ news section, just letting you working DJs eyeballing the Rain nightclub in Las Vegas that the main spot is still taken for another year (at least). Paul Oakenfold got the contract extension which he didn’t really need, as he’s got a bunch of projects running side to side with his performances at the Perfecto Vegas, his Saturday night show at Rain.

While working DJs are known to switch nightclubs like dirty underwear, it’s all the more surprising that Rain and the N9NE Group, which manages it, decided to extend Oakenfold’s contract for another year. After all, he started Perfecto Vegas and made it what it is today, and don’t take it from me, take it from the mouth of the guys responsible with this: "With record attendance and increasing demand from our guests, N9NE Group and the Palms Casino Resort are very pleased to extend Paul’s residency and Perfecto Las Vegas through 2010,… The introduction of Perfecto Las Vegas in 2008 not only redefined Rain as the ultimate nightclub venue to experience unparalleled music and entertainment, it also established Las Vegas as a true global music destination".

Again, I’m sorry I have to talk about the high and mighty working DJs which have got in positions that are only accessible to one DJ at a time, I’m sure some of your mouths are drooling over the idea of mixing at the Perfecto in Rain, but news is news. It’s better you know than to be sorry later. It’s not going to make it any better if I tell you that Rain is pretty much a legend in the worldwide clubbing industry, covering an amazing 25 000 square foot surface, and it gets filled every Saturday night with all sorts of DJ lighting equipment, special effects and different artists that make it one of the most unique club experiences ever.

Paul Oakenfold in the exercise of duty at the Rain Nightclub in Perfecto Vegas

Paul Oakenfold only adds to this already amazing array of preparation, and of course, it’s the DJ that gives any party and club it’s atmosphere and leaves the crowd with an aftertaste when it’s over. In the case of "Paul Oakenfold presents: Perfecto Vegas", I don’t think there’s ever been a persona to walk out of the Rain nightclub not saying WOW to himself. Even if Paul Oakenfold is only going to scratch those DJ turntables 26 times throughout the next year and a half, Rain made sure that the other nights are going to be equal to Saturday’s Perfecto Vegas.

N9NE brought other internationally known and acclaimed working DJs to fill in the spot when Paul Oakenfold, now the confirmed permanent resident at Rain is going to be out on the call of duty, since he’s working, as I said, on multiple projects and not just for Rain. One of those working DJs is Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, who’s going to mix every Friday night in Rain, in a sort of warming up for Saturday’s Perfecto.

All in all, this can only be good news for Las Vegas and for Rain, because Paul Oakenfold can really make a party, and as was to be expected, he’s pretty delighted himself to have been offered this contract renewal from the N9NE group. This 45 year old British DJ doesn’t let the technological advance get the best of him, and still gives up and coming working DJ a spin for their money, so to speak, which can only be good for the public. Mix on!
