Top summer DJ destinations

So what other top DJ destinations are there, besides Ibiza?
Ok, so Ibiza has been around and made a name for itself as being the town where it all happens, the hottest, coolest, whatever else-est town as far as music, top DJs and party go. But nothing that’s that good can last forever, so you may either be tired of Ibiza and sick of hearing the name again, either nowhere near Ibiza this summer and with no plans whatsoever to get there for real partying, but you definitely want to keep the spirit alive and keep getting to those hot DJ locations around the world. So where can you go, besides Ibiza? Best peeps to ask are the DJs themselves, who are the ones going and mixing all over the world, so let’s hear it from the best of them.
DJ Sasha, who often mixes live at Ibiza, in Asia, South Africa and Miami, recommends Punta del Este in Uruguay (from Christmas to January), the Greek island of Mykonos, which he attests to be great in August (when he actually mixed there). In Mykonos, check for Club Cavo Paradiso, right near one of those white sand beaches, where the crowd goes crazy all the way into the morning. A good alternative destination is also the Black Sea coast in Romania, clubs like La Mania and Kristal, which come to a close second to Ibiza, DJ Sasha says.
DJ Mylo, who you can often see in Ibiza, has another alternative DJ destination "if Ibiza closes down tomorrow". First, DJ Mylo recommends former Yugoslavia, with Serbia being a massive dance destination this summer, along with the Benicassim Festival in Spain, from the 16th to the 19th of July.

Now for some really big world renowned DJs, Tiesto has a few alternatives for Ibiza as well, and the closest place to it, in Tiesto’s opinion, is Kazantip, from the 1st to 23rd of August, where there a huge 5 to 6 weeks techno, house and dance event, going on right on the beach of the Crimean Peninsula, near Simferopol, in Ukraine. A different story, if you’re more into a combination of cool restaurants, parties and beaches, Tiesto points to Miami, during the Winter Music Conference. And if there’s one guy you should believe, it’s this guy, as he’s been in places.
Other famous DJs like Above and Beyond, or DJ Sarah Main go more towards the south and they recommend Brazil and the clubs over there, either, in Florianopolis or Buzios. Or hey, if you want to party like in a jungle, there’s always Maresias, where the Sirena club has all the Ibiza energy and more, but it’s set in a real jungle, and is said to be Sao Paulo’s version of Copacabana.
So in short, either if you’re a working DJ looking to score some gigs, or a dance crazed fanatic that can’t get to Ibiza this summer, your chances are good somewhere in Eastern Europe, where the crowd goes real wild and the parties are as hot as Ibiza’s, or South America, where Brazil keeps the dance forefront, recommended by famous DJs around the world.
