Gemini DJX-05
The DJX-05 are built (and are being sold) for the recession
With the countries unemployment rate skyrocketing, numerous talks about a recession, and the fear of what may become a depression, money is starting to get tight. People aren’t eating out Friday nights, or even ordering in. They’re starting to put away what precious little they have, only spending it on things like utilities, bills, food. You know, the important stuff, but not the "good" stuff. What happens when you need to treat yourself to something "good"? Shouldn’t you get rewarded for smart shopping and, of course, saving? Absolutely. And the best way to reward smart shopping is by, ironically, smart shopping.
For working DJs who need something new, head over to Gemini (click here for workingDJ posts on Gemini). At this always affordable DJ supplier, the prices for hot equipment, like the DJX-05, are so low, they’re 100% shallow pocket friendly.
If you’re looking for a good set of DJ headphones for your ears and you only have about $50 to your name, don’t hesitate in purchasing the DJX-05. Are they as good as Ultrasone’s headphones? Obviously not, but you can get them for a fraction of the price. The good thing about the DJX-05 is it’s the type of DJ equipment that’s cheap in price, but not quality.
After reviewing the product, I wanted to start with what really matters in a pair of headphones, and what these headphones are representing proudly: sound. Working DJs, you will be amazed with the sound quality these babies produce. You can even compare the DJX-05 to some high-end headphones today. The best part about it isn’t that it can withstand whatever wattage you throw its way, but the bass on these headphones will blow your socks off. Personally, if impressive depth is key when I’m in the studio, I’d purchase the DJX-05 over any pair of Sony headphones. The overall sound is crisp, clear, and the absence of noise on the outside is just an added bonus.
The second most important thing on a pair of headphones, these days, isn’t feel, but safety. Unfortunately, you’re only dropping $40 on the DJX-05, so Gemini didn’t take the same safety precautions as you’d find from Ultrasone. So, in the case of these headphones, the second most important trait is how it feels, and I can assure you, these little guys will feel amazing. They’re lightweight (weighing just a little over a pound), and were designed with a soft cushioning, which you can see pretty well in the picture. They were built solid, making it so the construction won’t crumble within the first month of purchasing them.
Lastly, they’re convenient for the road, thanks to the extra flexibility in body, which allows the DJX-05 to smoothly fold when not in use. So if you’re worried about losing or breaking expensive headphones, just buy with Gemini, where the equipment is good, but never pricey.
