Vestax VCM-100

Vestax VCM-100

A lot of working DJs can agree that Vestax’s DJ equipment has come through for them when they needed it most. There up-to-date products have inspired many to upgrade with Vestax, and with good reason. Here is another DJ product desgned by the hands of Vestax; the Vestax VCM-100. Needless to say, this USB MIDI and audio system has some big shoes to fill. Is it filling them out nicely?

The VCM-100 features:

I’ll let Vestax explain their new product in their own words: "The VCM-100 is a compact USB MIDI & audio system, designed with Vestax’s mechatronics technology developed in the past 30 years. Despite its compact size, the VCM-100 comes with 4in4out(Stereo x 2 in/out)connection, headphone output and high quality mechanical parts placed in the control section."

Why Buy It?

Transportability. Thanks to thin metal that won’t weigh a product down, the VCM-100 weighs close to nothing. It has a compact size that every working DJ will love. As you can see from the picture below, it works great with your laptop. The VCM-100 hooks onto the laptop, making it appear as one uber convenient product. Portability should never be questioned in this case.

Durability. It may be small, but don’t let the VCM-100 fool you. The metal, although quite thin, is strong like a tank. It won’t weigh you down, but it won’t wear/tear on you either.

Affordability. The price isn’t bad. I’m usually a complainer, but with good features and a low retail price of $699 and a street price at about $400, not even I’m complaining. Software is thrown into the mix, so I can’t imagine why working DJs will hesitate to buy it over something way more expensive.

Input and Output. Like Vestax says, it’s compact, but harbors quite a few inputs and outputs. 4 in and 4 out connections. Where did they store all of it?

Compatibility. The VCM-100 is compatible with any software that will allow MIDI control assignment.

Why Avoid it?

Well, that’s kind of difficult. Hmmm…I got nothin’. If any working DJs can ante up some VCM-100 cons, I would like to be aware of them.

Now for some visual aid. This is a pretty cool clip that provides descriptive content on the VCM-100 with the help of some visual aid. Click Here and check it out.
