Crown K1: The Crown of Great Sound

Crown K1:
Crown’s series of amplifiers have quickly become every DJs best friend. If you have an ear for fine quality, Crown won’t let you down. What I don’t get about Crown is the discontinuation of their K series (K1 and K2). I can understand why they discontinued a few other products they’ve designed, but I can’t wrap my head around this particular turkey neck chopped series. Oh well. Discontinued products means you can find them for a cheaper price elsewhere. Dirt cheap. And the quality…? Still as good as ever.
Crown K1, a semi portable amplifier I think all you working DJs would love to stock up on, provides the power you can’t get in music without a top notch amp. This reliable two rack device delivers quality without sucking all the energy out. Among that, it features:
- Great sound with low distortion
- Switchable input sensitivity
- Three year problem free (Crown guarantees) warranty
- Mono mode switches
- "Soft Start" feature to prevent large currents
The design is one of the first reason Crown’s K1 amplifier stands out, as it was designed to conserve energy. In this day and age, that’s a definite +1 for Crown. The design boasts well for another valuable reason: longevity. Everyone who likes to dish out their dough for value but instead gets crap that won’t last more than a week, Crown’s K1 amp is NOT for you. All the other working DJs who like products that last long, let me direct you to K1. ((It has NOOO fans!!!!))
Are you currently using an amp that colors your sound? A lot of high end DJ suppliers will often sell these types of amps, because some working DJs don’t mind "bright" sound. For those who prefer zero coloring, Crown K1 is 100% for you.
Remember how I said it has a solid build? At 32 pounds and material a Marine wouldn’t mind using to build his tank, it could be a lot worse. I said "semi" portable, as it is heavier than the portable amps on the market. But I’ve seen much worse, and I’m sure some of you guys have too. ((I guess portability depends on the DJs weight tolerance, strength and the other DJ equipment he or she is lugging around. The Crown K1 might be completely un-portable for some DJs))
I can go on and on, but I won’t. My words could be baseless, so I’ll just dish out the facts, not my personal opinions. So here are Crown’s K1 Facts:
- Great range-properly covers everywhere from low to high
- No Fan noise (convention cooled!!)
- Clean bass
- Satisfying amount of inputs and outputs
All and all? You can do a lot worse. A lot worse. Crown’s replacement to the K1 amp has some big shoes to fill.
